CAMP PROGRAM INFO: New Country Day Camp is an oasis for children growing up in New York City. All of our campers and staff ride the camp bus from stops in North Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan to the beautiful Henry Kaufman Campgrounds on Staten Island. Our older campers spend their mornings with their friends in camp groups of kids their age. In their groups, they'll have an opportunity to try all of our camp programs. In the afternoons, campers spend time in program units which they choose independently on Mondays, and which last the week through Friday.

Any camper entering 2nd through 6th grade may choose from the following program units: Camping, Cooking, and Pioneering Or Science and Technology Or Sports Or Gymnastics Or Arts and Crafts Or Martial Arts Or Performing Arts. While we encourage our campers to try new program units each week, every child's independent decision making is highly respected by camp staff.

CAMP FACILITIES: For the 1-week camp and the first 2 weeks of the 3-week camp, we meet at Cap21 Rehearsal Studios located at 18 W. 18 St, NYC. During the last week of camp, we move to the Under St Marks Theatre at 94 St. Marks Place (8th St) in the E Village for rehearsal and the final performance of the musical.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We also offer Tuesday Afterschool and Saturday Morning Programs during the Fall and Spring school semesters. They run every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 4-6pm and every Saturday for 12 weeks from 11am-1pm. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 120 seat theater which features full working lights and sound to produce and create the best possible theater atmosphere for young actors and first timers alike.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our staff has worked overseas directing and teaching fairytale theater and workshops for the acclaimed Galli Theater.

Tricia Patrick, our executive director, has been a dancer and actor for the past 20 years. She has been acting and teaching with Galli Theater for 9 years in the USA and Europe.

Simon Geronimo, our artistic director, has been performing with the Galli Theater for over 15 years in Europe and North America. He has been trained in acting by Johannes Galli and is also a certified Galli Method ® Trainer.

The Galli Theater communicates important social issues through modern adaptations of fairy tales from around the world. The plays highlight their symbols and help to illuminate wisdom that is highly relevant in today’s society. They awaken a sense of liveliness in audiences and actors alike that can help reveal the genuine person and his inner vision and power, thus celebrating childhood.

Our camps help participants gain self-confidence, overcome barriers, learn new languages and cultures, improve acting skills, and increase health and wellness.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor's in Training (CIT)

CIT's are campers entering 10th grade. CIT's have the opportunity to work with different age groups each week to experience different ages, activities and counselors. In addition, there are "hands-on experiences" to better prepare you for the role of being a counselor. These include team-building, discussion sessions from your experiences from the week, etc.

Upon completion of the CIT program, you will be eligible to work at Woodmont in some capacity which will be determined at the beginning of our hiring season. A weekly out of camp trip is also included in the program.

CAMP FACILITIES: Silver Lake is a picturesque camp, situated on over 300 acres of rolling green hills with a 96-acre private lake. Since opening in 2004, we have been busy improving and upgrading all of our facilities. During that time we have built all new bunks and renovated our basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. We have also expanded our facilities over the past few summers by adding a new soccer field, "Monster" baseball field, skate park, Pool, and brand new state of the art Gymnastics Facility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Michael and Shari Baer, owners of Camp Chipinaw, established Silver Lake in 2004 as a session camp that allowed campers to attend for 3, 4, or 7 weeks. Silver Lake incorporates all of the traditions, activities, and spirit of Chipinaw… but does it twice each summer! Simply put, we want to provide campers with the opportunity to go to camp for a shorter amount of time and still get the "full camp" experience.

With state of the art facilities and over 50 activities to choose from, Silver Lake offers a warm family feel. Sports, Arts, Adventure, Digital Media, and Water Sports are just some of the many programs campers can choose from. Fly on our flying trapeze, flip into the foam pit in our newly built gymnastics center, horseback ride through one of our many trails, or waterski on our 96 acre lake, Silver Lake has something for everyone!

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Camps Chipinaw & Silver Lake are looking for motivated students to join our staff for the 2018 summer season. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The majority of our camp staff is chosen from graduates of our two year CIT program for students entering 9th and 10th grades. 9th Graders are placed in groups and learn how to manage the campers, the schedule, and the various trials and tribulations of any job. They also take a weekly class with our CIT coordinator. Those CIT's entering 10th grade enjoy added responsibility and leadership opportunities and have a weekly class with the Director of Summer Programs, during which they learn job skills such as resume building, interview skills, and public speaking.

All CIT's receive certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting through the Red Cross.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We offer a variety of discounts including Leap Frog (previous year's prices if registered/paid before Feb. 1st), Early Bird (registered/paid before April 24th), and Sibling (off of each additional child enrolled after the first camper for each week they are enrolled together).

CAMP FACILITIES: The Mark Morris Dance Center is equipped with 7 column-free studios which range in size from 430 to 3,600 sqft with wood-sprung floors and spacious dressing rooms with lockers and showers. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Broadway Experience is an international musical theatre program designed to create and inspire triple threat performers. Students undergo an intense, disciplined study of dance, voice, and acting with current Broadway professionals and incredible master teachers. From the advanced beginner to the young professional, TBE creates a synergy between training and the professional world where excellence is expected. Minimum age requirement is 11 years of age. CAMP FACILITIES: At Timber Lake West, Campers live in modern, paneled cabins called bunks. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space for each camper's belongings. Three to four counselors and eight to ten campers make up each bunk.

Campers make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete packing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

The cabin or bunk is where campers learn to live together as a group, to share and to respect each other. We see bunk living as the core of the camp experience - central to our mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends.

Our athletic program includes clinics, instruction, inter-camp tournaments, and plenty of games played just for fun. HARDCORE ATHLETICS:
Hardcore Sports is designed to provide extra instruction and drills in various sports for those campers who elect to work with extra intensity on their skills. The work-out sessions are held during an elective or swim period for those campers yearning to improve their skills, practice for upcoming tournaments or play at a higher level of competition. These campers get a chance to work on their mechanics through drills, practicing game situations, improving their mental preparation, building self-esteem and getting into or staying in great physical shape.

Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Our emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Our experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis, of course, on safety. Timber Lake West's two heated pools set us apart from others. Our Olympic size pool makes free swim a favorite activity while our completely private spring-fed lake, right in the heart of camp, provides the thrill of water-skiing and an extensive boating program, featuring instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, banana boating and water skiing.

Adventure at Timber Lake West comes alive when our campers challenge themselves to try activities they have never done before. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, scaling our 35 foot climbing wall or soaring down our zip line, camp is meant to be an adventure.

Our low ropes course gives campers the opportunity to work together toward a common goal while building friendships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

As part of our program each bunk meets with our trained and experienced staff on our low ropes/team building course and on overnight camp outs. As a cohesive unit, the campers work together to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the four week session.

Each day campers select two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts electives. Combined with our scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. Every Wednesday is uniquely programmed for our entire campus. After a well-deserved later wake-up and breakfast on our campus, campers head out to a special morning of electives. The afternoon is a scheduled activity! Dinner is our famed barbecue and then a special evening activity finishes out the day. INCLUDING: Carnival, Battle of the Sexes, Olympics, Wacky Water Day, College Confrontation, Guiness Book of Records Day, Wild and Wacky Water Day, Big Sister-Little Sister, Big Brother-Little Brother, WWF Chocolate Pudding Wrestling, All-Star Athletic Clinics, Laser Tag, Professional Magic Show and Magic Clinics, and Girls' Day Out and Boys' Day Out

EVENING ACTIVITIES:
Each evening is filled with a fun activity. Whether it's a “Broadway” production in our theatre, a campfire, masquerade social, outdoor games, contests or a late-night league game on one of our lighted courts, evening activities are among the best times of the day at Timber Lake West. Before bedtime, campers stop with friends at our Planet West Canteen, complete with snacks, Pop-a-Shot, ping pong, pool tables and air hockey.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Teen programs are strong and we’re proud that we continue to attract returning older campers year after year. In spite of all of the other choices that high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West all the way through the end of their Teen summers.

The Timber Lake West Teen Program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision. Our Teens alternate between a two-day Whitewater Rafting trip or a two-day trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.

Our Teens are also part of our apprenticeship program in camp, through which they choose a specialty area and an age group with which they think they might like to work. For several hours each week, they will be assigned to work with these groups so that they can get a feel for coming back as Junior Counselors.

We provide structure, supervision, feedback and training so that they are successful AND prepared to be part of our staff!

CAMP FACILITIES: Surprise Lake Camp is blessed with incredible natural beauty. Our camp sits on 500 beautiful wooded acres surrounded by an enormous expanse of undeveloped state parkland. Our sparkling, 30-acre lake is nestled between two rugged mountain ridges. It creates a vision of rustic beauty that dances in the heads of visitors years after they've been to camp. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Surprise Lake Camp has a rich history. It was founded in 1902 by the Educational Alliance to provide a summer vacation for Jewish boys from Main Building - 1920 the tenements of Manhattan's Lower East Side. In its first season, it had six tents for 25 campers and five counselors. One of the first campers was Eddie Cantor, who, upon achieving success as an entertainer, became one of the camp's most ardent supporters. Since then Surprise Lake Camp has served thousands of young people, many of whom have achieved prominence, among them, entertainer Neil Diamond, talk show host Larry King, actor Jerry Stiller, and former New York Attorney General Robert Abrams.

In 1911, the 92nd Street Y became partners in running the camp, and the camp office was located at the Y for many years. In 1917, when the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies was created, Surprise Lake Camp was one of the initial member agencies. The camp then became incorporated as a New York not-for-profit in 1920, eventually leading to complete independence from its founding agencies. Over the years, Surprise Lake Camp has been substantially rebuilt three times. In addition, its clientele and program have evolved as the Jewish community has changed. Originally established to provide summer vacations in the country for poor boys from the lower East Side, the camp has also gone through periods when it was dedicated to feeding undernourished boys, operated as a year-round camp which included formal education during the winter, committed to the personal development of children using a social group work model, and run as a general co-ed summer camp with special emphasis on scholarships.

CAMP FACILITIES: Schodack is nestled in a picturesque wooded valley in the foothills of the Berkshires, our beautiful campus of flat, grassy playing fields is surrounded by acres of our own stunning, private forest. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 61,000 sq.ft. fully air-conditioned recreation facility with a 24,000 sq. ft. main arena and a 12,000 sq.ft. auxiliary gymnasium. The Main Arena has seating for all campers, counselors and parents. We have an on-site indoor Olympic Pool, classrooms, computer lab, arts and crafts section, Drama & Cheer areas, sports courts, Atrium Game area, movie room and private dining room, and camp office.

We have 60 acres of outdoor fields, all weather track, three NCAA fields (soccer, baseball and softball), special field for early childhood campers, and outdoor courts.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At Staten Island Day Camp we offer a three day program and programs from four weeks to eight weeks. We have free door to transportation for all five day programs and free extended hours. We have a full sport and recreation program, all adult counselors and an on-site American Red Cross swim program. We have optional clinics in soccer, basketball, digital and computer technology, cheer, drama and literacy and math enrichment. We are celebrating our thirty-fifth year with the same Owner/Director.

Our senior staff includes a retired superintendent of schools and principal, school psychologist and teachers. All senior staff are on-site all day every day. We have specialty coaches and specialists for our clinics.

We have weekly nationally acclaimed professional entertainment, weekly theme-based activities and events. We have swimming four times a week. Swim activities are supervised by two American Red Cross swim instructors and seven lifeguards. All counselors are in the water with their campers. Our adult to camper ratio in the pool is 4:1.
