Campers will gain confidence as they pursue success on our High Ropes Challenge Course. The 35 foot rock wall, zip lines, vertical playpen and platforms that allows campers to build success and confidence as they pursue each element. The Equestrian program is a half day, week long program of instruction and riding. It is a introduction for those who have never worked around horses or will complement any outside riding experience you have.
In-depth programs are super soccer, I Hear "Music", Counselor in training, Equestrian, and High Ropes climbing adventure. Our Camp is celebrating it 96th year and we are proudly the oldest 4-H Camp in New York State.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Every year we have Family camp weekend. Each year it is a different theme. The family can take part in the camp program or just use the camp as a place to stay and see the best of Long Island.

We also host an Alumni weekend for everyone to come join back in the fun from over 95 years of tradition.

CAMP FACILITIES: Founded in 2001, the JBFC shows hundreds of films each year in our five-screen art house theater and pioneers a unique, hands-on approach to media literacy at our Media Arts Lab across the street. Play, make, and explore with a range of cutting-edge technology in our state-of-the-art production spaces, including a sound stage, recording studio, screening room, editing suites, computer labs, and numerous shooting and production spaces. All sessions are held at the Media Arts Lab with occasional visits to the JBFC Theater just down the street, or into the village with supervision.

Viewing and Doing
Learn about media from the inside out through the JBFC’s Viewing & Doing program! Learn to watch feature films the way a director does (and write reviews!) and explore a different type of media—including animation, film, sound, and gaming—each day. In addition, you’ll participate in film-related challenges and activities as you work together in groups.

On the Set
Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Pok-O-MacCready Camps is one of the oldest summer camps in the world. In fact, our boys’ camp is the oldest in the United States having been privately owned and operated by the same family since its establishment in 1905. In 1967 our current director, Jack Swan, saw the need for a summer camp for girls and opened Camp MacCready. We are now one big family, combining our names to “Pok-O-MacCready” and operating as a traditional residential Adirondack summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen.

The proximity of our summer camp to the Adirondack Wilderness Park grants us access to more than 6 million acres of woodland, rocks, rivers, lakes, and mountains to explore. We consider it a privilege to be able to share this gorgeous part of the country with our campers each summer, and enjoy fostering their love of the outdoors while teaching them stewardship for the environment.

This rite of passage teaches them responsibility and independence and allows them to give back to the summer camp that has been an important part of their lives. Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore! Want to experience camp for yourself and wrap it up into an inexpensive family vacation? Maybe you and your children are just curious to see what Pok-O-MacCready is all about, but you’re not quite ready to take the plunge with an entire summer. We have an answer for that: bring the whole family to camp! Our annual Family Camp week runs at the end of August and is all-inclusive of accommodation, meals, activities and programming, and transportation for trips outside of camp. FULL SEASON (7 Weeks) JULY 1, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $8,200.

It’s true! Many of our campers choose to stay for all seven weeks of the summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

4-WEEK SESSION JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 29, 2019 Standard Rate: $6,400
The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

“ROOKIE CAMP” (2 Weeks, for ages 6-10 only)
JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 14, 2018 Standard Rate: $3,200

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camper living facilities are beautiful modern cabins, all of which have wood flooring, pine walls, windows, air-conditioning and ceiling and attic fans. Modern updated bathrooms, replete with private shower and toilet stalls, are housed within the cabins. The bunks are spacious with separate rooms to store our camper's clothing. The cabins are air-conditioned and have state of the art sprinkler systems, metal-encased electrical conduit, ARC-fault breakers, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and new hot water heaters.

Our facilities, most of which are lit for night play, include 8 basketball courts (3 indoor with new flooring), 7 baseball/softball fields, 3 hockey rinks, LED-lit turf football/lacrosse/soccer field, 2 grass lacrosse/football fields, 8 grass soccer fields, indoor gymnastics pavilion, 10 tennis hardcourts, volleyball courts (sand, grass and hard), 4 heated swimming pools, extensive water park and lake toys, cardio and weight rooms, Outdoor Adventure facilities (3 rock walls, 3 ropes courses, 2 ziplines), models and woodworking shops, 2 arts & crafts halls, 2 cooking centers, darkroom & digital photo studio, spin studio, archery range, 280 seat movie theater, ice cream parlor, canteen, arcade, 850 person Playhouse (for all-camp events and shows), separate boys and girls health centers and six dining halls.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: New Country Day Camp is an oasis for children growing up in New York City. All of our campers and staff ride the camp bus from stops in North Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan to the beautiful Henry Kaufman Campgrounds on Staten Island. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each building is staffed by a Head Camp Counselor and 4 camp counselors who are are specially trained to serve as positive role models, mentors and friends. They provide out-of-classroom supervision throughout the week.

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. Groups of 8-12 campers of similar gender and age attend daily activities together as a cabin with their leaders. The intention is to foster a “family-like” atmosphere within the group. Broadway Bound Players is a free performing arts program for underserved students seeking opportunities to perform and find a theatre community. Members of this exciting ensemble receive acting, voice, and dance training from professional teaching artists and take master classes with Broadway performers. They rehearse and perform a musical review that they help create. This program culminates with a performance on a professional stage.

The Broadway Bound Workshop is a fully subsidized 8-month program. Members will explore character development through musical theatre, improvisation, monologues, and scene study. The ensemble applies these skills throughout the rehearsal process for a show presented in the Spring. The members in this program develop confidence and competence as performers and as young adults! The ensemble is also given other performing opportunities with Broadway Bound Kids, master classes with Broadway performers, and individual coaching for college auditions.

The GO Project currently serves 722 students in grades K-8 through our summer (GO Summer) and school year program (GO School). Enrichment Coordinator - Each afternoon during the summer, GO Project provides students with a variety of art and movement experiences that intentionally complement and support the morning academic periods. The GO Project is seeking Enrichment Coordinators to oversee the implementation of high quality enrichment programs with our elementary school students. Coordinators will directly supervise 5-10 Activity Specialists and act as a campus leader for one of four sites.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Yomawha features beautiful woodlands, a mountain stream, a lake for boating, private swimming pool, climbing wall, state-of-the-art playground and various athletic fields. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Surprise Lake Camp has a rich history. It was founded in 1902 by the Educational Alliance to provide a summer vacation for Jewish boys from Main Building - 1920 the tenements of Manhattan's Lower East Side. In its first season, it had six tents for 25 campers and five counselors. One of the first campers was Eddie Cantor, who, upon achieving success as an entertainer, became one of the camp's most ardent supporters. Since then Surprise Lake Camp has served thousands of young people, many of whom have achieved prominence, among them, entertainer Neil Diamond, talk show host Larry King, actor Jerry Stiller, and former New York Attorney General Robert Abrams.

In 1911, the 92nd Street Y became partners in running the camp, and the camp office was located at the Y for many years. In 1917, when the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies was created, Surprise Lake Camp was one of the initial member agencies. The camp then became incorporated as a New York not-for-profit in 1920, eventually leading to complete independence from its founding agencies. Over the years, Surprise Lake Camp has been substantially rebuilt three times. In addition, its clientele and program have evolved as the Jewish community has changed. Originally established to provide summer vacations in the country for poor boys from the lower East Side, the camp has also gone through periods when it was dedicated to feeding undernourished boys, operated as a year-round camp which included formal education during the winter, committed to the personal development of children using a social group work model, and run as a general co-ed summer camp with special emphasis on scholarships.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our historic facility was built in 1929 and is home to a recently renovated 145-seat proscenium theater where campers rehearse and perform showcases for friends and family. Campers swim in our facility’s heated pool under close supervision from swim instructors, camp counselors and lifeguards. Visual arts activities occur in the Arts Annex, and campers utilize multi-purpose rooms throughout the YMCA for instruction and activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Arts Camp's 2018 theme is ART AS ENERGY. "Giving children tools on how to interpret their experience in a body, helps empower them to make decisions. They learn to listen to themselves and direct their energy in a conscious way that will allow them to settle into themselves and their authentic power." (Leanne Holitza). This summer, we will focus on 4 energetic centers in the body and how these energy centers may inspire artistic expression, creativity, and community. We will begin at the naval center with an exploration of courage, determination, and commitment. Next, we move to the heart to explore harmony, peace, love, and compassion. Third, we move to the throat center to explore communication, self-expression, listening, and truth. Finally, we land on the 3rd eye, where campers will meditate on intuition, vision, wisdom, balance, and curiousity.

On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater. Throughout the summer in all 4 art forms, students explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art as it relates to the summer's over-arching program theme. In addition to arts classes, all campers swim twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and, weather permitting, enjoy Central Park for lunch, fresh air, yoga, and team-building creative activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our Mission: To engage, empower, excite, and educate young students in the performing arts. Theater educators must guide students with experience, skill, energy, patience, insight, and a sense of humor. Mentoring through education is vital to the mission statement of On Broadway: Performing Arts Training Program. Our goal is to not only teach students the principles of the performing arts in a conservatory type setting, but also help them discover truth and meaning along the way. No matter which direction they may take in life. All classes are led by theater or design professionals with years of experience in the performing arts industry.

Our Executive Director, Rema Webb, is an 18 year Broadway veteran. She is currently appearing on Broadway in The Color Purple. Her most recent credits include: A New Brain at City Center and Violet at Roundabout Theatre starring Sutton Foster. Rema appeared in NBC’s The Sound of Music Live performance starring Carrie Underwood. Additional movie credits include: The Oksana Baiul Story, Sudden Death, Beloved, and First Born.She has been a member of Disney’s The Lion King since 1999 and is an Original cast member of The Book of Mormon. Her Broadway debut was in the 1998 production of Ragtime.

Our Managing Director, Daniel Siford, has served as a director, teaching artist, artist in residence, and guest artist with theater schools, professional theatre companies, and dance companies up and down the east coast. The list includes reputable organizations such as The Rugby School, Two River Theatre Company, Act One Theater School, and Play Group Theater. Additionally, he ran summer camps for the McBurney YMCA (NYC) for three consecutive years. He spent several proud years working in various capacities at the NYC office of the American Indian College Fund. He is currently involved with creating and implementing a new training program for staff and foster parents in Family Foster Care/Therapeutic Family Foster Care programs at the largest child welfare agency in the state of New York. Danny has a bachelor’s in musical theatre and a master’s in psychology. Daniel’s engaging personality and authentic spirit has allowed him to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children and families, his proudest accomplishment to date.

What are Master Teachers?
What makes OnBroadway-PATP special is the infusion of amazing Master Class teachers the program has available. Each On Broadway PATP program incorporates a Master Class teacher or artist. The array of Master Teachers includes Broadway Directors, renowned Playwrights, Industry professionals, and more! They are a group of folks who have devoted themselves to a life that encompasses performing arts, strength-based practices, and self-expression.

What is a Master Class?
A Master Class is a class given to students of a particular discipline by an expert of that discipline. Master classes are intertwined within all of our programs. On Broadway PATP is dedicated to providing the best Master Classes that NYC has to offer.
All of our Master Classes, which take place twice weekly are open to parents. Drop in Master Classes are available to parents and students at $40 per class.

Through mentorship and support, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow. On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program is the best training a kid can get for the stage and for life!

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: To qualify for financial aid/scholarship, you must submit verification of total income of your household. Please call 347.927.2877 for more information. FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Our Master Classes are open to the public. Family and friends are welcome to come witness the progress of students for a small nominal fee. These classes also allow theater aficionados to attend sessions with the Broadway elite. These sessions should not be missed.

6 Week Summer Program
Each week includes daily instruction in all aspects of the performing arts. Daily curriculum implementation includes (all age appropriate):
Theater – Improvisation, Scene Structure, Theatre History, and Methods of Acting
Music - Music Theory, Ensemble/Solo Singing, and Rhythm
Dance - Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Musical Theater
Theatre Arts - Production design, management, and implementation.

Summer Camp includes a Dance partnership field trip to the New Victory Theatre.

THE FINAL SHOWCASE
Each program will culminate with a professional performance with live musicians and state of the art design in a 220 seat theatre located in Riverside Theatre.

Only children who participate in 4 or more weeks of summer program are eligible for a leading role in summer shows. Auditions for roles will take place prior to the first day of the program. All others will be considered for ensemble roles only and welcome to participate!

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Week One will focus on preparing students for what it takes to be the best you can be at an audition. Students will learn how to choose and absorb material, and be given the opportunity to audition for program directors and a panel of other industry professionals. The audition will take place on the last day of week one in the afternoon. AM classes will include music, dance, and acting classes and PM schedule will be geared towards preparing students for audition. Audition pieces will be assigned unless otherwise agreed upon by program directors. A resume workshop will also be included in this week. This week is great as a single week or as part of the whole package.

Week Two focuses on performance based methods and techniques. Students will learn acting principles of Meisner, Stanislavsky, and Method Acting. They will participate in creative and educational music classes led by our professionally trained music director. Our accomplished dance director will challenge them on a daily basis with the fundamentals and importance of dance. A weekly invited class will take place in the afternoon on the last day of Week Two. Daily schedule will include AM classes in music, dance, and acting and PM schedule will focus on the technique of learning new material as an ensemble.

Week Three focuses on solo/group work. Whether you choose this week singly or as part of the whole program, you will not be disappointed. As well as continuing the technique training that was offered in Week One and Week Two, Week Three will focus on the importance of being able to work on your own or in a group. Individual coaching will be available this week only. Daily schedule will include AM classes in music, dance, and acting and PM schedule will focus on solo/group work.

Weeks Four, Five, and Six are special and amazing weeks that will focus on putting together a live professional production. These weeks are not available as single week programs, as to accommodate best practices for a final performance. Most of these weeks will be devoted to rehearsal and production of final performance.

Fees: $625/week or $3750 for the full On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program Summer experience.

CAMP FACILITIES: When campers are not on a trip, they will have a full complement of fun activities in Caedmon’s four-story building. Highly skilled counselors will guide them in swimming, arts and crafts, cooking, movement, music, science, tennis, and, of course, sports and games in the outdoor courtyard. The three youngest groups will also have waterplay 2–3 times per week.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our facilities include 4 swimming pool, playgrounds, a play village, a high ropes adventure course, a miniature golf course and driving cages, tennis courts, basketball courts, hockey courts and fields for softball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Campers entering the 10th grade may participate in our Camper In Training (CIT) program which offers interested campers an opportunity to work besides our staff in a group our specialty area.
