CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor's in Training (CIT)

CIT's are campers entering 10th grade. CIT's have the opportunity to work with different age groups each week to experience different ages, activities and counselors. In addition, there are "hands-on experiences" to better prepare you for the role of being a counselor. These include team-building, discussion sessions from your experiences from the week, etc.

Upon completion of the CIT program, you will be eligible to work at Woodmont in some capacity which will be determined at the beginning of our hiring season. A weekly out of camp trip is also included in the program.

CAMP FACILITIES: The Mark Morris Dance Center is equipped with 7 column-free studios which range in size from 430 to 3,600 sqft with wood-sprung floors and spacious dressing rooms with lockers and showers. The Dance Center also offers a wellness center with physical therapy, massage, and pilates reformer, a 140-seat performance space, plus 2 outdoor terraces. It has become a haven, a society of dancing, and a community enterprise for people of all ages and abilities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Broadway Experience is an international musical theatre program designed to create and inspire triple threat performers. Students undergo an intense, disciplined study of dance, voice, and acting with current Broadway professionals and incredible master teachers. Students become stronger, versatile, and more dynamic performers, preparing themselves for a professional career at the highest level.

From the advanced beginner to the young professional, TBE creates a synergy between training and the professional world where excellence is expected. Minimum age requirement is 11 years of age. The Pro level is for college age students or young professionals who want to continue their triple threat musical theatre training at the highest level and make valuable connections for the future culminating in a filmed showcase in 1080 HD.

We aim to find the most passionate and dedicated musical theatre students and a great deal of care is taken in placing each and every one. We strongly believe students should be challenged in a positive and nurturing environment and not overwhelmed by incorrect placement.

Campers will gain confidence as they pursue success on our High Ropes Challenge Course. The Equestrian program is a half day, week long program of instruction and riding. It is a introduction for those who have never worked around horses or will complement any outside riding experience you have.
In-depth programs are super soccer, I Hear "Music", Counselor in training, Equestrian, and High Ropes climbing adventure. Our Camp is celebrating it 96th year and we are proudly the oldest 4-H Camp in New York State.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Every year we have Family camp weekend. Each year it is a different theme. The family can take part in the camp program or just use the camp as a place to stay and see the best of Long Island.

We also host an Alumni weekend for everyone to come join back in the fun from over 95 years of tradition.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: The camp is open for rental groups and school groups and organizations. We offer Environmental program, High and Low rope, nutrition program, farm and animal programs, Kayaking, horse back riding and Archery program.

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is the 60th Anniversary of Bristol Hills Music Camp. We accept band, orchestra and vocal musicians in grades 7-12 who have a passion for music and want to share it with others like them. We offer a Junior and Senior High Concert Band and Jazz Ensembles, a Junior String Ensemble and full Symphony Orchestra, a Vocal Ensemble, a Junior and Senior High All Camp Chorus, daily music electives, numerous small group ensembles, private lessons, including guitar. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our staff has worked overseas directing and teaching fairytale theater and workshops for the acclaimed Galli Theater.

Tricia Patrick, our executive director, has been a dancer and actor for the past 20 years. She has been acting and teaching with Galli Theater for 9 years in the USA and Europe.

Simon Geronimo, our artistic director, has been performing with the Galli Theater for over 15 years in Europe and North America. He has been trained in acting by Johannes Galli and is also a certified Galli Method ® Trainer.

The Galli Theater communicates important social issues through modern adaptations of fairy tales from around the world. The plays highlight their symbols and help to illuminate wisdom that is highly relevant in today’s society. They awaken a sense of liveliness in audiences and actors alike that can help reveal the genuine person and his inner vision and power, thus celebrating childhood.

Our camps help participants gain self-confidence, overcome barriers, learn new languages and cultures, improve acting skills, and increase health and wellness.

5 Year Olds
As our 5 year old campers transition from Stepping Stones to Main Camp, they will begin to utilize our traditional-sized facilities while participating in enhanced tennis instruction and other athletic activities, American Red Cross swim instruction/recreational swim, nature, music, creative & performing arts and many other exciting activities! Our 5 year old program also features a 'Mini Club' period which allows each group to select from a list of their favorite activities to participate in each day.

Our 5 year olds also participate in our unique, values-based, STARFISH program. The STARFISH program not only supports our camp's mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends while building self-esteem; it creates a safe environment that makes accomplishing that mission possible. Our STARFISH program assists in teaching, promoting and recognizing the values of Sportsmanship, Tolerance, Appreciation, Respect, Friendship, Integrity, Sensitivity and Helpfulness.

6 & 7 Year Olds
Our 6 & 7 year olds take full advantage of our famous 'Club Elective' program on a daily basis, allowing our campers to customize their schedules with their favorite activities! Club options include enhanced tennis instruction and competitive play, musical theatre production, other athletic clinics, innovative studio art projects, and many more!

8 Year Olds
In addition to participating in our great range of traditional activities, our 8 year old campers get the chance to experience the excitement and spirit of teamwork associated with our 'Sports Leagues'. Sports Leagues begin on an every other day basis, alternating with a SECOND 'Club Elective' period. League Teams are divided equally, with the emphasis being put upon good sportsmanship and building self-esteem. Campers may also participate in one of our 'Showtime' musical theatre productions, cook, swim, dance, explore nature, and take advantage everything that our camp program has to offer!

9 & 10 Year Olds / 11 & 12 Year Olds
We recognize that our older campers are looking for a more innovative and customizable summer experience so we give it to them! Our 'Club + Sports Leagues' program allows these senior groups to tailor their summer experience for up to two hours each day. Additionally, these older groups have "flex" periods in their schedule throughout the week which allow their group to once again choose between a list of available activities to participate in. In addition, our older groups enjoy the privilege of venturing off the SRCC grounds on exciting day trips to local attractions and fun, off-site programs.

Theater educators must guide students with experience, skill, energy, patience, insight, and a sense of humor. Our Executive Director, Rema Webb, is an 18 year Broadway veteran. She is currently appearing on Broadway in The Color Purple. Her most recent credits include: A New Brain at City Center and Violet at Roundabout Theatre starring Sutton Foster. Rema appeared in NBC’s The Sound of Music Live performance starring Carrie Underwood. Additional movie credits include: The Oksana Baiul Story, Sudden Death, Beloved, and First Born.She has been a member of Disney’s The Lion King since 1999 and is an Original cast member of The Book of Mormon. Her Broadway debut was in the 1998 production of Ragtime.

Our Managing Director, Daniel Siford, has served as a director, teaching artist, artist in residence, and guest artist with theater schools, professional theatre companies, and dance companies up and down the east coast. The list includes reputable organizations such as The Rugby School, Two River Theatre Company, Act One Theater School, and Play Group Theater. Additionally, he ran summer camps for the McBurney YMCA (NYC) for three consecutive years. He spent several proud years working in various capacities at the NYC office of the American Indian College Fund. He is currently involved with creating and implementing a new training program for staff and foster parents in Family Foster Care/Therapeutic Family Foster Care programs at the largest child welfare agency in the state of New York. Danny has a bachelor’s in musical theatre and a master’s in psychology. Daniel’s engaging personality and authentic spirit has allowed him to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children and families, his proudest accomplishment to date.

What are Master Teachers?
What makes OnBroadway-PATP special is the infusion of amazing Master Class teachers the program has available. Each On Broadway PATP program incorporates a Master Class teacher or artist. The array of Master Teachers includes Broadway Directors, renowned Playwrights, Industry professionals, and more! They are a group of folks who have devoted themselves to a life that encompasses performing arts, strength-based practices, and self-expression.

What is a Master Class?
A Master Class is a class given to students of a particular discipline by an expert of that discipline. Master classes are intertwined within all of our programs. On Broadway PATP is dedicated to providing the best Master Classes that NYC has to offer.
All of our Master Classes, which take place twice weekly are open to parents. Drop in Master Classes are available to parents and students at $40 per class.

Through mentorship and support, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow. On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program is the best training a kid can get for the stage and for life!

6 Week Summer Program
Each week includes daily instruction in all aspects of the performing arts. Daily curriculum implementation includes (all age appropriate):
Theater – Improvisation, Scene Structure, Theatre History, and Methods of Acting
Music - Music Theory, Ensemble/Solo Singing, and Rhythm
Dance - Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Musical Theater
Theatre Arts - Production design, management, and implementation.

Summer Camp includes a Dance partnership field trip to the New Victory Theatre.

THE FINAL SHOWCASE
Each program will culminate with a professional performance with live musicians and state of the art design in a 220 seat theatre located in Riverside Theatre.

Only children who participate in 4 or more weeks of summer program are eligible for a leading role in summer shows. Auditions for roles will take place prior to the first day of the program. All others will be considered for ensemble roles only and welcome to participate!

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Week One will focus on preparing students for what it takes to be the best you can be at an audition. Students will learn how to choose and absorb material, and be given the opportunity to audition for program directors and a panel of other industry professionals. The audition will take place on the last day of week one in the afternoon. AM classes will include music, dance, and acting classes and PM schedule will be geared towards preparing students for audition. Audition pieces will be assigned unless otherwise agreed upon by program directors. A resume workshop will also be included in this week. This week is great as a single week or as part of the whole package.

Week Two focuses on performance based methods and techniques. Students will learn acting principles of Meisner, Stanislavsky, and Method Acting. They will participate in creative and educational music classes led by our professionally trained music director. Our accomplished dance director will challenge them on a daily basis with the fundamentals and importance of dance. A weekly invited class will take place in the afternoon on the last day of Week Two. Daily schedule will include AM classes in music, dance, and acting and PM schedule will focus on the technique of learning new material as an ensemble.

Week Three focuses on solo/group work. Whether you choose this week singly or as part of the whole program, you will not be disappointed. As well as continuing the technique training that was offered in Week One and Week Two, Week Three will focus on the importance of being able to work on your own or in a group. Individual coaching will be available this week only. Daily schedule will include AM classes in music, dance, and acting and PM schedule will focus on solo/group work.

Weeks Four, Five, and Six are special and amazing weeks that will focus on putting together a live professional production. These weeks are not available as single week programs, as to accommodate best practices for a final performance. Most of these weeks will be devoted to rehearsal and production of final performance.

CAMP FACILITIES: Each of our cabins is equipped with complete bathrooms/ showers, electricity, porches and plenty of space. (No bunk beds!) Cabins are designed to hold between 5-8 campers with a minimum of 3 staff members living in each cabin so that we can maintain our 2:1 camper counselor ratio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located along a secluded nine-mile lake in the Adirondacks of New York State is a private/ independent seven-week residential camp for 130 children from across the United States and around the world. Camp Northwood is oriented toward children with low self-esteem, immature social skill development, high functioning autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges in need of a structured and supportive, socially therapeutic summer experience. Northwood's program, developed and supervised by an outstanding staff of special educators, focuses on the development of independence, social skills, self-image and the maintenance of academic skills.

Each Northwood camper participates in a fully non-competitive, socially oriented, main-streamed styled camp program. A camper/ counselor ratio of 2:1 provides a high level of individualization at activities and in the cabin setting insuring success. In addition to traditional camp activities, each child participates in an individually designed academic program intended to help maintain current skill levels throughout the summer season. Northwood campers are exposed to a variety of social experiences designed to foster age-appropriate social skill development. Group social skill sessions and constant reinforcement within the cabin setting cultivate growth in each camper's ability to work as part of a team, interpret social situations and feel a sense of inclusion in the camp community.

CAMP FACILITIES: Founded in 2001, the JBFC shows hundreds of films each year in our five-screen art house theater and pioneers a unique, hands-on approach to media literacy at our Media Arts Lab across the street. Play, make, and explore with a range of cutting-edge technology in our state-of-the-art production spaces, including a sound stage, recording studio, screening room, editing suites, computer labs, and numerous shooting and production spaces. Learn about media from the inside out through the JBFC’s Viewing & Doing program! Learn to watch feature films the way a director does (and write reviews!) and explore a different type of media—including animation, film, sound, and gaming—each day. In addition, you’ll participate in film-related challenges and activities as you work together in groups.

On the Set
Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.
