CAMP FACILITIES: We operate out of a typical NYC elementary school and have access to their yard and playground as well.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers specialize in one of two majors: performing or visual arts. Declare your major when you sign up! Both majors will culminate in a showcase each week.

Additionally, campers will declare minors. These elective-based classes include a variety of fun, energetic, and engaging activities to get your camper moving! Examples of possible classes are: Yogamotion, Dance Around the World, or Jr. Asphalt Jungle

MUSICAL MANIA is the major for campers who love to sing, act, dance, and perform!

Campers will create an original theatre piece and performance. Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theatre: playmaking, acting, singing, and dancing using imagination games as well as formal classes.

ART STUDIO is the major for students who want to develop their artistic vision!

In this major, we will work individually and collaboratively to create projects in a studio atmosphere with professional art materials. Surrounded by other young artists, campers will experiment and develop skills with new and familiar mediums to curate a class art show each week.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Pok-O-MacCready Camps is one of the oldest summer camps in the world. In fact, our boys’ camp is the oldest in the United States having been privately owned and operated by the same family since its establishment in 1905. In 1967 our current director, Jack Swan, saw the need for a summer camp for girls and opened Camp MacCready. We are now one big family, combining our names to “Pok-O-MacCready” and operating as a traditional residential Adirondack summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen.

The proximity of our summer camp to the Adirondack Wilderness Park grants us access to more than 6 million acres of woodland, rocks, rivers, lakes, and mountains to explore. We consider it a privilege to be able to share this gorgeous part of the country with our campers each summer, and enjoy fostering their love of the outdoors while teaching them stewardship for the environment.

Pok-O-MacCready Camps is fully accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) and adheres to all standards of compliance with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH)

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our CIT program for girls and ADV (Advanced) program for boys is an important finale to the summer camp career for our 15 and 16 year old campers! This rite of passage teaches them responsibility and independence and allows them to give back to the summer camp that has been an important part of their lives. As a send-off, you will save 20% off your child’s second (and final) year in the program. (The discount is taken off the regular tuition rate, and cannot be combined with other offers. The camper must have attended the first year of the CIT/ADV program to qualify.)

Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore! Want to experience camp for yourself and wrap it up into an inexpensive family vacation? Maybe you and your children are just curious to see what Pok-O-MacCready is all about, but you’re not quite ready to take the plunge with an entire summer. We have an answer for that: bring the whole family to camp! Our annual Family Camp week runs at the end of August and is all-inclusive of accommodation, meals, activities and programming, and transportation for trips outside of camp. YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Pok-O-MacCready operates an Outdoor Education Center on its grounds from September through June of each year. Since 1974, the Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center has welcomed thousands of students and adults to participate in wilderness adventure excursions, team building dynamics, wildlife & ecology studies, living history programs, community events, and conservation initiatives. Apart from onsite day & multi-day overnight programs, PMOEC is available for school visits and in-classroom programming. CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:

FULL SEASON (7 Weeks) JULY 1, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $8,200.

It’s true! Many of our campers choose to stay for all seven weeks of the summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

4-WEEK SESSION JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 29, 2019 Standard Rate: $6,400
The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

“ROOKIE CAMP” (2 Weeks, for ages 6-10 only)
JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 14, 2018 Standard Rate: $3,200

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

Ages 3-5 in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn will include: Unicorns and Dragons, Blast Off, Superheroes on Stage and more! Campers explore creative movement, theater games, improvisation, song and literature in our theater camp. They are taught character-driven physicality and vocal techniques by professional actors and teachers. Play is at the heart of the camp, and the children’s intuitions and imaginations are encouraged at every step.

Themes include Moana, The Big Top, Frozen, Jungle Book and more! We will “play” with the story, music and characters from classic folktales and work on songs that are appropriate for developing voices and exciting to perform. Creative movement combined with choreography gives the students an artistic physical outlet. Theater games and artwork surrounding the characters support the children’s understanding of how to create a character. Class culminates in a performance of our improvisations, songs and dances.

Sessions for ages 7-11 in Brooklyn Heights will include: Adventures in Musical Theater, Mythology Players, Hogwarts School, and A Series of Unfortunate Camps. Kids learn how to create a character from a place of instinct and play. CAMP FACILITIES: Our natural wooded setting, outstanding facilities, and breathtaking waterfront provide campers endless opportunities for outdoor fun.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers enjoy a balanced schedule that includes group periods and choice periods each day. During group periods, campers participate in group activities that ensure group bonding and a well-rounded summer. Choice periods provide campers a customized Walden experience, with more time and instruction in the activities they love most.

Walden also has many exciting special days that differ from our regular schedule! Our campers enjoy awesome trip days to places such as Six Flags amusement park. We also have many Special Event Days including Carnival, Big/Little Day, and Superbowl Sunday among many others. Broadway Bound Players is a free performing arts program for underserved students seeking opportunities to perform and find a theatre community. Members of this exciting ensemble receive acting, voice, and dance training from professional teaching artists and take master classes with Broadway performers. They rehearse and perform a musical review that they help create. This program culminates with a performance on a professional stage.

The Broadway Bound Workshop is a fully subsidized 8-month program. Members will explore character development through musical theatre, improvisation, monologues, and scene study. The ensemble applies these skills throughout the rehearsal process for a show presented in the Spring. The members in this program develop confidence and competence as performers and as young adults! The ensemble is also given other performing opportunities with Broadway Bound Kids, master classes with Broadway performers, and individual coaching for college auditions.

Students in this conservatory-style acting class will develop fundamentals through the exploration of technique, text analysis, and scene study. Students will work on materials including one assigned classical scene (Shakespeare, Euripides, etc) or contemporary-classical (i.e. Anton Chekhov), and one assigned contemporary scene mid 20th century to present (i.e. Tennessee Williams, August Wilson, Suzan Lori Parks).

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camper living facilities are beautiful modern cabins, all of which have wood flooring, pine walls, windows, air-conditioning and ceiling and attic fans. Modern updated bathrooms, replete with private shower and toilet stalls, are housed within the cabins. The bunks are spacious with separate rooms to store our camper's clothing. CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Program participants can be day students or live on campus and enjoy a full schedule that provides recreational activities on weekends and afternoons. Since 1990, the Summer Program has successfully combined not only academic enrichment and remediation, but also new experiences, opportunities and fun.

Admissions: The Gow School has a rolling admissions policy for its Summer Program. Personal interviews and tours of the campus are given throughout the year. Academics: The Gow School Summer Academic Program is a challenging and stimulating learning environment which provides students the opportunity to improve their academic skills. Afternoon Activities: Each afternoon, Summer Program students participate in three Activity Instructional Clinics (AICs). AICs help students learn new skills and enjoy a full summer experience. During activity sessions, students are encouraged to participate to their level of comfort. Character building and teamwork abilities are emphasized. The AICs include traditional athletic activities such as basketball and capture the flag, along with non-traditional sports such as crab soccer and tennis softball. Weekend Trips: Weekend trips are one of the many highlights of The Gow School Summer Program. Three overnight excursions are taken during the summer. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: New Country Day Camp is an oasis for children growing up in New York City. All of our campers and staff ride the camp bus from stops in North Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan to the beautiful Henry Kaufman Campgrounds on Staten Island. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp takes place in our state of the art black box theater and rehearsal spaces.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Participants will study with theater experts from a variety of fields and disciplines. welcome into our CIT program. CITs work as assistant teaching artists, group leaders, and develop their skills as directors.

Classes during the Summer at Coupé session are structured for groups of students based on their age and experience in the performing arts. The curriculum and daily scheduling keeps campers busy from 10 am until 5 pm in class and workshops, with time for lunch.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 61,000 sq.ft. fully air-conditioned recreation facility with a 24,000 sq. ft. main arena and a 12,000 sq.ft. auxiliary gymnasium. The Main Arena has seating for all campers, counselors and parents. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Voice, acting, dance, improv all taught but current and past broadway performers. From 9-4 every day right here in NYC! This will be our 6th Summer for Broadway Bootcamp and the IAMT brand should instill confidence that your child will be mentored by some of the best teachers in NYC. Take dance classes from performers who actually performed them on a Broadway stage! From two-time Tony Award nominated actor/dancer Gavin Lee (Mary poppins and Spongebob) to Paloma Garcia Lee (Charlie and the Choc factory, Phantom of the Opera, Nice work if you can get it, Natasha Pierre and Moulin rouge), Keven Quillion (Bandstand, My fair lady, grease, Shrek), IAMT Dance Head Nicholas Cunningham, Broadway choreographer Ricky Hinds, Jennifer DiNoia (Wicked), Deanna Doyle (On The Town, Tuck Everlasting and many more!

Learn acting from IAMT co-founder Michael Minarik who performed in such Broadway shows as Les Miserables, Rock of Ages and Matilda! As well as the Broadway national tours of Urinetown and Little Women. Michael also is a Tony Nominated Broadway Producer for the hit musical Rock of Ages!!!

We promote joy and love and excitement for broadway and everything it has to offer.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: IAMT is a two-year musical theatre conservatory training program for those students who specifically want a career in the performing arts. Broadway Bootcamp is the perfect place to discover if musical theatre is the right path for you!

PRICING: (Includes a ticket to a Broadway show and performance fees)

$2700.00 for the three-week intensive

$3600.00 for the four-week intensive

CAMP FACILITIES: We are housed at Convent of the Sacred Heart, a school comprised of two mansions and a state-of-the-art athletics/wellness center. We have a theatre, a ballroom, gyms, dance studios, a fully equipped conditioning & training weight room, cafeteria, computer lab, AND a 6 lane swimming pool!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Staff are professionals in their fields. Guest Artists visit the program. We see one Broadway show each summer.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each building is staffed by a Head Camp Counselor and 4 camp counselors who are are specially trained to serve as positive role models, mentors and friends. They provide out-of-classroom supervision throughout the week.

Our programs are staffed by distinguished members of the Alfred University faculty and advanced graduate students. Our sports camps are run by our head sports coaches who have all won distinguished awards in their sport. With Alfred University's excellence in teaching and coaching, along with their commitment to offering quality programming, these are among the most educational and fun summer programs in the country.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): At the end of our Equestrian camps there are shows put on for parents to enjoy the last day of camps. Check our website for specific information.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Cafeteria-style meals are served in the University's dining hall. Our Dining Service chefs do an excellent job in accommodating campers with food allergies and any other special requirements.
