CAMP FACILITIES: The Mark Morris Dance Center is equipped with 7 column-free studios which range in size from 430 to 3,600 sqft with wood-sprung floors and spacious dressing rooms with lockers and showers. The Dance Center also offers a wellness center with physical therapy, massage, and pilates reformer, a 140-seat performance space, plus 2 outdoor terraces. It has become a haven, a society of dancing, and a community enterprise for people of all ages and abilities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Broadway Experience is an international musical theatre program designed to create and inspire triple threat performers. Students undergo an intense, disciplined study of dance, voice, and acting with current Broadway professionals and incredible master teachers. Students become stronger, versatile, and more dynamic performers, preparing themselves for a professional career at the highest level.

From the advanced beginner to the young professional, TBE creates a synergy between training and the professional world where excellence is expected. Minimum age requirement is 11 years of age. The Pro level is for college age students or young professionals who want to continue their triple threat musical theatre training at the highest level and make valuable connections for the future culminating in a filmed showcase in 1080 HD.

We aim to find the most passionate and dedicated musical theatre students and a great deal of care is taken in placing each and every one. We strongly believe students should be challenged in a positive and nurturing environment and not overwhelmed by incorrect placement.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our historic facility was built in 1929 and is home to a recently renovated 145-seat proscenium theater where campers rehearse and perform showcases for friends and family. Campers swim in our facility’s heated pool under close supervision from swim instructors, camp counselors and lifeguards. Visual arts activities occur in the Arts Annex, and campers utilize multi-purpose rooms throughout the YMCA for instruction and activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Arts Camp's 2018 theme is ART AS ENERGY. "Giving children tools on how to interpret their experience in a body, helps empower them to make decisions. They learn to listen to themselves and direct their energy in a conscious way that will allow them to settle into themselves and their authentic power." (Leanne Holitza). This summer, we will focus on 4 energetic centers in the body and how these energy centers may inspire artistic expression, creativity, and community. We will begin at the naval center with an exploration of courage, determination, and commitment. Next, we move to the heart to explore harmony, peace, love, and compassion. Third, we move to the throat center to explore communication, self-expression, listening, and truth. Finally, we land on the 3rd eye, where campers will meditate on intuition, vision, wisdom, balance, and curiousity.

On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater. Throughout the summer in all 4 art forms, students explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art as it relates to the summer's over-arching program theme. In addition to arts classes, all campers swim twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and, weather permitting, enjoy Central Park for lunch, fresh air, yoga, and team-building creative activities.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Thanks to our generous donors to our Annual Campaign we are able to make the Y accessible through our Financial Assistance Program. CAMP FACILITIES: In both NYC and LA, campuses are accessible only with a valid AMDA photo identification card, which High School Summer Conservatory students receive.

Supervision is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. When students are not in class with our world-class faculty, they are supervised by members of our trained AMDA staff.

Students leave campus only for planned and chaperoned outings, which may include going to a Broadway show or visiting NYC and LA tourist destinations.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Creative Drama Camp: Our most popular camp emphasizes the creativity, enjoyment, and personal growth of each child. Through drama games, movement, music, and vocal exercises, kids will explore self-expression and gain confidence. A final online showcase creates a comfortable and exciting opportunity to experience another important aspect of theater: performance!

Musical Theater Camp: Using a different, inspiring Broadway theme each session, campers will explore scenes, songs, and dance numbers. This flexible format allows us to create a very personal experience for our campers, helping them to grow and take on specific challenges. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: West Side Y Arts Camp is an experiential summer of fun for ages 5.5 - 12. Arts Camp is a vibrant community-building experience in which campers explore their own creative expression in a safe and supportive environment. Children are grouped by age and together they take 5 classes each in DANCE, DRAMA, MUSIC, and VISUAL ARTS per 2-week session. That adds up to 20 hours of arts instruction every 2 weeks!

The summer is divided into four two-week sessions, each with its own organizing theme. Campers learn different styles and techniques in all 4 art forms all summer long with a focus on foundational skill building, development of original material, rehearsal, and performance. On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater.

The THEME for Summer 2017 is ARTS THROUGH TIME. In each program session, we will focus on a different historical period -- Ancient/Medievel, Renaissance/Middle Ages, Victorian/Colonial, and Modern Era -- and in each of the 4 art forms, explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art of that time. CAMP FACILITIES: Summer at Coupé is located at Coupé Theatre Studio facility which includes 7 fully equipped dance studios with sprung floors, mirrors, installed barres, and state of the art audio and video equipment.

There are multiple waiting rooms and observation windows for parents as well as dressing rooms and rest rooms for boys and girls.

Classes during the Summer at Coupé session are structured for groups of students based on their age and experience in the performing arts. The curriculum and daily scheduling keeps campers busy from 10 am until 5 pm in class and workshops, with time for lunch.

Campers may order lunch on a pre-set menu from a local deli or bring their own lunch from home. A snack bar for water and healthy snacks are on the premises.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Final performance is presented on the last day of camp, featuring our 5-week campers, for a family and friends audience to see the projects, dances and musical theatre campers have completed during the five-week session.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summer at Coupé is the summer program offered by Coupé Theatre Studio, which is a year-round school for the performing arts. Classes at Coupé are available for students age three through senior year in high school, and include: ballet, jazz, tap, demi pointe and pointe, theatre dance, hip hop, modern, lyrical jazz, acro, kinders, musical theatre, acting and voice.

Campers will be able to explore nature and build friendships, through interactive activities that center on God’s love and grace.

ADVENTURE CAMP (ages 12-15): July 26th – August 7th 2015 $1190 per two-week session (Early Bird $995 before March 1st) OR NEW July 26th - August 14th 2015 $1495 per three-week session (Early Bird $1295 before March 1st) A two-week or three-week camp program for middle school youth to enjoy a place apart from the busy world and to experience God’s love through nature, community, and challenge. Opportunities to develop skills in activities including sailing, wilderness skills and swimming. Christian Formation programs are designed to encourage youth to discover their faith in an open and caring environment.

DAY CAMP: July 7th – August 14th 2015: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm $250 per five-day session (must register in five-day session periods) A new Christian Day Camp for campers ages 7 – 14 to be able to enjoy God’s creation in the outdoor beach setting and make new friendships in a safe community. Opportunities to facilitate and lead a day camp program, master activity areas, develop new skills, and live out faith in practical and service-centred ways. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each building is staffed by a Head Camp Counselor and 4 camp counselors who are are specially trained to serve as positive role models, mentors and friends. They provide out-of-classroom supervision throughout the week.

Our programs are staffed by distinguished members of the Alfred University faculty and advanced graduate students. Our sports camps are run by our head sports coaches who have all won distinguished awards in their sport. With Alfred University's excellence in teaching and coaching, along with their commitment to offering quality programming, these are among the most educational and fun summer programs in the country.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. Imagine the fun you could have with us at Shankitunk this summer!

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Shankitunk does offer a CIT program for campers age 14 and older who are interested in becoming future counselors. Campers complete level one in team-building, level two in communication and self reflection, and then attend a two week program where they devote all of their class time the first week to becoming a counselor and spend the second week shadowing a counselor to apply what they have learned. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 120 seat theater which features full working lights and sound to produce and create the best possible theater atmosphere for young actors and first timers alike.

Tricia Patrick, our executive director, has been a dancer and actor for the past 20 years. She has been acting and teaching with Galli Theater for 9 years in the USA and Europe.

Simon Geronimo, our artistic director, has been performing with the Galli Theater for over 15 years in Europe and North America. He has been trained in acting by Johannes Galli and is also a certified Galli Method ® Trainer.

The Galli Theater communicates important social issues through modern adaptations of fairy tales from around the world. The plays highlight their symbols and help to illuminate wisdom that is highly relevant in today’s society. They awaken a sense of liveliness in audiences and actors alike that can help reveal the genuine person and his inner vision and power, thus celebrating childhood.

Our camps help participants gain self-confidence, overcome barriers, learn new languages and cultures, improve acting skills, and increase health and wellness.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Along with our workshops and performances, we also have daily arts and crafts allowing our campers to use their imaginations in creating stories, and art pieces they can share and keep.

We rely very much on letting our campers use their imagination as much as possible when they walk through the door.

CAMP FACILITIES: Kids stay in our 100 year old estate lodges. These buildings, equipped with bathrooms, kitchens, and comfortable bedding, allow kids to be away from home and challenge themselves without being worried about a raccoon climbing into their sleeping bag at night time.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Vanderkamp Center runs a summer camp program that is radically different from any you'll find anywhere else. Just ask the folks at campingcoasttocoast .com, who called it a "one of a kind, magical place." These consultants loved our philosophy so much that they dropped everything to work here this summer, in 2014!

What makes Vanderkamp so different is that it treats children as true equals - getting rid of rules designed for adult convenience, and focusing on helping children to love themselves for exactly who they are. By helping children employ wise freedom, the growth seen by kids at Vanderkamp is really unlike anywhere else. While rules designed for adult convenience are discarded, Vanderkamp takes physical and emotional intimidation incredibly seriously, and it has fostered an environment where this sort of bullying is nearly non-existent.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Pok-O-MacCready Camps is one of the oldest summer camps in the world. We are now one big family, combining our names to “Pok-O-MacCready” and operating as a traditional residential Adirondack summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen.

Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore! Want to experience camp for yourself and wrap it up into an inexpensive family vacation? Maybe you and your children are just curious to see what Pok-O-MacCready is all about, but you’re not quite ready to take the plunge with an entire summer. It’s true! Many of our campers choose to stay for all seven weeks of the summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

4-WEEK SESSION JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 29, 2019 Standard Rate: $6,400
The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

“ROOKIE CAMP” (2 Weeks, for ages 6-10 only)
JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 14, 2018 Standard Rate: $3,200

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

CAMP FACILITIES: Our summer camp facilities are extensive, having constantly been built up and improved since 1926. In addition to our lake, 1.5 miles of private shoreline and over 800 acres of land, our facilities support a huge range of summer camp sports and activities, including basketball, baseball, soccer, swimming, horseback riding, and much more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: FLC is not a co-ed camp but rather a brother/sister camp. This means that our boys camp and girls camp each have their own distinct programs, activities, campuses, and living areas. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Neglia Ballet's "Storytime Explorers" is a creative arts summer camp (ages 5-8) where children are the story keepers and their imagination the storyteller. CAMP FACILITIES: We operate out of a typical NYC elementary school and have access to their yard and playground as well.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers specialize in one of two majors: performing or visual arts. Declare your major when you sign up! Both majors will culminate in a showcase each week.

Additionally, campers will declare minors. These elective-based classes include a variety of fun, energetic, and engaging activities to get your camper moving! Examples of possible classes are: Yogamotion, Dance Around the World, or Jr. Asphalt Jungle

MUSICAL MANIA is the major for campers who love to sing, act, dance, and perform!

Campers will create an original theatre piece and performance. Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theatre: playmaking, acting, singing, and dancing using imagination games as well as formal classes.

ART STUDIO is the major for students who want to develop their artistic vision!

In this major, we will work individually and collaboratively to create projects in a studio atmosphere with professional art materials. Surrounded by other young artists, campers will experiment and develop skills with new and familiar mediums to curate a class art show each week.
