CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Bonjour NY is a French immersion summer camp located in the heart of New York City. We offer weekly registration from 1 to 9 weeks. Bonjour NY was elected "best camp attended in NY" by our families, is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a NYC licensed.

Our campers spend a lot of time outdoors playing sports, water games, swimming, going out on fun trips to local farms, making bread at local French bakeries.... The staff engages in French only with the campers through live games, songs, arts...

Our staff is fluent in French and comes from all over the world. All staff members are fully trained by Bonjour NY and many are also certified in Advanced First Aid, CPR for the Professional rescuers, lifeguarding...Everybody is carefully selected and a full background check is done on all employees. May of us are teachers and certified educators.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of US Performing Arts Camps is to promote and develop the growth of performing artists in America.

US Performing Arts Camps is considered the premier top tier summer program for training young people in the arts. Our programs are taught by the university or college departments and their professional faculty and guest professionals in their fields.

US Performing Arts offers programs in Animation, Computer Animation, Costume design, Directing, Film-making (including 4K High-definition), Dance, Hip Hop Dance, Musical Theater, Play-writing, Sit Com Writing, Sit Com Acting, Singing, Voice-over work for animation, movies and games, and we started the first College Audition Boot Camps for high school students.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camper living facilities are beautiful modern cabins, all of which have wood flooring, pine walls, windows, air-conditioning and ceiling and attic fans. Modern updated bathrooms, replete with private shower and toilet stalls, are housed within the cabins. The bunks are spacious with separate rooms to store our camper's clothing. The cabins are air-conditioned and have state of the art sprinkler systems, metal-encased electrical conduit, ARC-fault breakers, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and new hot water heaters.

Our facilities, most of which are lit for night play, include 8 basketball courts (3 indoor with new flooring), 7 baseball/softball fields, 3 hockey rinks, LED-lit turf football/lacrosse/soccer field, 2 grass lacrosse/football fields, 8 grass soccer fields, indoor gymnastics pavilion, 10 tennis hardcourts, volleyball courts (sand, grass and hard), 4 heated swimming pools, extensive water park and lake toys, cardio and weight rooms, Outdoor Adventure facilities (3 rock walls, 3 ropes courses, 2 ziplines), models and woodworking shops, 2 arts & crafts halls, 2 cooking centers, darkroom & digital photo studio, spin studio, archery range, 280 seat movie theater, ice cream parlor, canteen, arcade, 850 person Playhouse (for all-camp events and shows), separate boys and girls health centers and six dining halls.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1922, Camp Pontiac is led by medical doctors and identical twins Kenny & Ricky Etra and their children, all of whom are parents themselves. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1968, the GO Project has a long history of serving public school children that are struggling academically. The GO Project currently serves 722 students in grades K-8 through our summer (GO Summer) and school year program (GO School). Unique to the GO Project model is the partnership we have developed with independent schools in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. These schools donate space and resources to the GO Project to enable us to operate our programs in a cost efficient manner. Enrichment Coordinator - Each afternoon during the summer, GO Project provides students with a variety of art and movement experiences that intentionally complement and support the morning academic periods. The GO Project is seeking Enrichment Coordinators to oversee the implementation of high quality enrichment programs with our elementary school students. Coordinators will directly supervise 5-10 Activity Specialists and act as a campus leader for one of four sites.

CAMP FACILITIES: A professional 3/4 round theater with complete lighting and sound systems. Students learn all aspects of producing a full-length Shakespearean production. The 16 participants primary responsibility is as the performing cast, but some time each day is set aside to learn/work on set, lighting, sound and costume design.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Calhoun Summer Shakespeare For kids entering 6th-11th grades June 23-July 25 This hugely popular five-week intensive theater program, now in its ninth season, takes young actors through all stages of a Shakespearean production, including set construction, costume building and lighting.

The four-week rehearsal process culminates in a final (fifth) week of performances. This year's production: Romeo & Juliet in the style of a Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Shankitunk does offer a CIT program for campers age 14 and older who are interested in becoming future counselors. Campers complete level one in team-building, level two in communication and self reflection, and then attend a two week program where they devote all of their class time the first week to becoming a counselor and spend the second week shadowing a counselor to apply what they have learned. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Program participants can be day students or live on campus and enjoy a full schedule that provides recreational activities on weekends and afternoons. Since 1990, the Summer Program has successfully combined not only academic enrichment and remediation, but also new experiences, opportunities and fun.

Admissions: The Gow School has a rolling admissions policy for its Summer Program. Personal interviews and tours of the campus are given throughout the year. Academics: The Gow School Summer Academic Program is a challenging and stimulating learning environment which provides students the opportunity to improve their academic skills. With an average class size of five students and individual attention from teachers, students achieve success in areas they never thought possible. Teachers use multi-sensory teaching strategies to reach students with different learning styles.

Classes such as Reconstructive Language and The Writing Process enable students to develop and enhance their language and writing skills, while courses such as Studio Art, Videography, and Metal Technology provide a chance to express creativity. Florida Film Academy at Gow: During the Summer of 2015, The Gow School is pleased to offer a special afternoon Videography course presented by The Florida Film Academy. Classes will run from Monday, July 15th through Friday, July 19th from 2-5 pm.

Afternoon Activities: Each afternoon, Summer Program students participate in three Activity Instructional Clinics (AICs). AICs help students learn new skills and enjoy a full summer experience. During activity sessions, students are encouraged to participate to their level of comfort. Character building and teamwork abilities are emphasized. The AICs include traditional athletic activities such as basketball and capture the flag, along with non-traditional sports such as crab soccer and tennis softball. Weekend Trips: Weekend trips are one of the many highlights of The Gow School Summer Program. Three overnight excursions are taken during the summer. These trips are not only fun and exciting, but also culturally and educationally rewarding. Experiences take advantage of local attractions, and range from camping trips to resort locations to museums and amusement parks.

July 1, 2018-August 4, 2018 Tuition for the 2018 Gow School Summer Program is $7,800 for residential students. This includes the cost of instruction, lodging in dormitories, meals, transportation, day trips and weekend excursions. CAMP FACILITIES: French Woods Sports and Arts Center features outstanding modern facilities that include a spacious multilevel dining room, heated pool, gymnasium, gymnastics center, fitness center, technology/communications center, recording studio, large theater, dance studio, rock music center, immaculate sports fields, 4 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor volleyball court, indoor and outdoor basketball court, a baseball diamond, archery range, a private lake, equestrian stables, 14 studios for classes and activities, an open air circus area, an advanced medical center, and two large Dormitory buildings (bunks) housing multiple suites that sleep 8 to 10 campers and counselors with en suite bathrooms, plus 3 additional bunk buildings. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: French Woods Sports and Arts Center provides the summer of a lifetime in a safe, supportive, supervised and age appropriate environment. Campers completely determine which activities they will participate in. Children are offered a wide range of activities that include sports, arts, technology, extreme sports, circus, rock music, electronic music, dance, water sports, DJ and radio, theater, communications, magic, cooking, role playing games, and equestrian. All that and more rolled up together into one incredible summer experience!

There are six activities per day, each one hour in length; three of these periods are called majors and three are called minors.

Majors are chosen at the beginning of each session and are maintained for two weeks. Minors are chosen daily at breakfast. This lets you concentrate on the things that interest you, while giving you the chance to try something new.

Empowering our campers to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments can increase motivation to try harder, try new activities, continues to build self-confidence, and achieve self-efficacy. The more you believe in your abilities, the more inclined you are to be motivated to attempt new things and become successful in those endeavors.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT Program: Campers who are entering the 11th and 12th grades have the option of participating in our two level Counselor In Training program. In one or two amazing, action-packed weeks, our campers, ages 13-18, will learn to handle professional equipment including lighting, video camera, computer editing program and go through all stages of film production:

Instructor: ERIC LAU is an alumnus of NYU's prestigious Graduate Film Program. He has worked in the film industry for 34 years. His films, Nightwatchman and Ragged Edge, won the Best Narrative Film Award in the 1981 and 1984 Hong Kong International Film Festivals as well as Best Production, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography Awards in the 1984 First Run.

Lau has been a Director / Producer / Cinematographer for many commercials and feature films. In 2007, he directed and produced Elevator Weekend which won the Official Selection category for both the Staten Island Film Festival and Long Island International Film Festival. He has produced and directed international TV commercials for Snapple, Toyota, China Unicom, and Blue Man Group among others, and garnered numerous awards including the Telly Award and the Gold and Silver Awards for the Taiwanese Annual TV Advertisement Awards.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Filmmaking Afterschool Program
Solar’s afterschool program offers children ages 13-18 enormous fun and a great learning experience. Kids will work in teams to learn how to write, shoot, edit, and direct films. We offer a hands-on filmmaking workshop, promoting storytelling in a fun, textbook-free environment.

Our philosophy is “they teach, we inspire.” The kids will be using professional filmmaking equipment while learning teamwork, expressing their thoughts, and developing their voice. Our experienced teachers will make sure students walk away from the program has had a ton of fun and laughs, having gained valuable experience, and with a complete short film created through their own artistic vision.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each building is staffed by a Head Camp Counselor and 4 camp counselors who are are specially trained to serve as positive role models, mentors and friends. They provide out-of-classroom supervision throughout the week.

Our programs are staffed by distinguished members of the Alfred University faculty and advanced graduate students. Our sports camps are run by our head sports coaches who have all won distinguished awards in their sport. With Alfred University's excellence in teaching and coaching, along with their commitment to offering quality programming, these are among the most educational and fun summer programs in the country.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our SUNY Purchase College location is a sprawling 500-acre campus located in the heart of beautiful Westchester County. It offers endless acres of playing fields, training areas, and 2 new floodlit turf, football, and baseball fields. As many as six full soccer fields, 12 short-sided fields, and NCAA regulation baseball and softball diamonds are expertly maintained for daily use. Facilities also include 14 newly-surfaced deco tennis courts (6 lighted), 3 full indoor, and 3 outdoor basketball courts.

Campers will also utilize 3 air-conditioned indoor gymnasiums, racquetball and squash courts, training rooms, an Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, a newly-renovated performance center, and a video analysis room.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) combines the fun of being a participant with important life skills such as leadership, personal development, teamwork, and communication, all under the watchful eyes of our experienced educators and coaches.

Working with guidance from our camp and program director(s), YLP participants will observe and assist in all aspects of the camp program and daily activities, while receiving performance feedback in a constructive environment, helping to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

CAMP FACILITIES: We are housed at Convent of the Sacred Heart, a school comprised of two mansions and a state-of-the-art athletics/wellness center. We have a theatre, a ballroom, gyms, dance studios, a fully equipped conditioning & training weight room, cafeteria, computer lab, AND a 6 lane swimming pool!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: West Side Y Arts Camp is an experiential summer of fun for ages 5.5 - 12. Arts Camp is a vibrant community-building experience in which campers explore their own creative expression in a safe and supportive environment. Children are grouped by age and together they take 5 classes each in DANCE, DRAMA, MUSIC, and VISUAL ARTS per 2-week session. That adds up to 20 hours of arts instruction every 2 weeks!

The summer is divided into four two-week sessions, each with its own organizing theme. Campers learn different styles and techniques in all 4 art forms all summer long with a focus on foundational skill building, development of original material, rehearsal, and performance. On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater.

The THEME for Summer 2017 is ARTS THROUGH TIME. In each program session, we will focus on a different historical period -- Ancient/Medievel, Renaissance/Middle Ages, Victorian/Colonial, and Modern Era -- and in each of the 4 art forms, explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art of that time. In addition to arts classes, all campers swim twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and, weather permitting, enjoy Central Park for lunch, fresh air, yoga, and team-building creative activities.
