CAMP FACILITIES: For the 1-week camp and the first 2 weeks of the 3-week camp, we meet at Cap21 Rehearsal Studios located at 18 W. 18 St, NYC. CAMP FACILITIES: At Timber Lake West, Campers live in modern, paneled cabins called bunks. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space for each camper's belongings. Three to four counselors and eight to ten campers make up each bunk.

Campers make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete packing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

The cabin or bunk is where campers learn to live together as a group, to share and to respect each other. We see bunk living as the core of the camp experience - central to our mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Timber Lake West's unique four-week summer camp program offers children a place to make new friends, try new activities and grow as a person. We believe that camp has to be safe and it has to be fun. That's what Timber Lake West is all about. We take all the fun, spirit, excitement and tradition of a full season camp experience and power pack it into four weeks.

Our athletic program includes clinics, instruction, inter-camp tournaments, and plenty of games played just for fun. We create the right balance between competition and good sportsmanship, allowing every camper to be comfortable joining in, while also promoting teamwork and spirit. At Timber Lake West, winning is great but our goal is that every camper walks off the field or court with more friends and feeling better about him or herself.

HARDCORE ATHLETICS:
Hardcore Sports is designed to provide extra instruction and drills in various sports for those campers who elect to work with extra intensity on their skills. The work-out sessions are held during an elective or swim period for those campers yearning to improve their skills, practice for upcoming tournaments or play at a higher level of competition. These campers get a chance to work on their mechanics through drills, practicing game situations, improving their mental preparation, building self-esteem and getting into or staying in great physical shape.

Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Our emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Our experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis, of course, on safety. Timber Lake West's two heated pools set us apart from others. Our Olympic size pool makes free swim a favorite activity while our completely private spring-fed lake, right in the heart of camp, provides the thrill of water-skiing and an extensive boating program, featuring instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, banana boating and water skiing.

Adventure at Timber Lake West comes alive when our campers challenge themselves to try activities they have never done before. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, scaling our 35 foot climbing wall or soaring down our zip line, camp is meant to be an adventure.

Our low ropes course gives campers the opportunity to work together toward a common goal while building friendships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

As part of our program each bunk meets with our trained and experienced staff on our low ropes/team building course and on overnight camp outs. As a cohesive unit, the campers work together to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the four week session.

Each day campers select two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts electives. Combined with our scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. Every Wednesday is uniquely programmed for our entire campus. After a well-deserved later wake-up and breakfast on our campus, campers head out to a special morning of electives. The afternoon is a scheduled activity! Dinner is our famed barbecue and then a special evening activity finishes out the day. EVENING ACTIVITIES:
Each evening is filled with a fun activity. Whether it's a “Broadway” production in our theatre, a campfire, masquerade social, outdoor games, contests or a late-night league game on one of our lighted courts, evening activities are among the best times of the day at Timber Lake West. Before bedtime, campers stop with friends at our Planet West Canteen, complete with snacks, Pop-a-Shot, ping pong, pool tables and air hockey.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Teen programs are strong and we’re proud that we continue to attract returning older campers year after year. In spite of all of the other choices that high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West all the way through the end of their Teen summers.

The Timber Lake West Teen Program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision. Our Teens alternate between a two-day Whitewater Rafting trip or a two-day trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.

Our Teens are also part of our apprenticeship program in camp, through which they choose a specialty area and an age group with which they think they might like to work. For several hours each week, they will be assigned to work with these groups so that they can get a feel for coming back as Junior Counselors.

We provide structure, supervision, feedback and training so that they are successful AND prepared to be part of our staff!

CAMP FACILITIES: Schodack is nestled in a picturesque wooded valley in the foothills of the Berkshires, our beautiful campus of flat, grassy playing fields is surrounded by acres of our own stunning, private forest. Our cabins are clean, airy and spacious buildings with private toilets and showers in each cabin. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Krouner family has been on this beautiful 100-acre site since 1909 when Sam and Lena Krouner operated a dairy farm, which later became Krouners Hotel. Our campers spend a lot of time outdoors playing sports, water games, swimming, going out on fun trips to local farms, making bread at local French bakeries.... The staff engages in French only with the campers through live games, songs, arts...

Our staff is fluent in French and comes from all over the world. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Shankitunk does offer a CIT program for campers age 14 and older who are interested in becoming future counselors. Campers complete level one in team-building, level two in communication and self reflection, and then attend a two week program where they devote all of their class time the first week to becoming a counselor and spend the second week shadowing a counselor to apply what they have learned. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Bonjour NY is a French immersion summer camp located in the heart of New York City. We offer weekly registration from 1 to 9 weeks. Bonjour NY was elected "best camp attended in NY" by our families, is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a NYC licensed.

Our campers spend a lot of time outdoors playing sports, water games, swimming, going out on fun trips to local farms, making bread at local French bakeries.... The staff engages in French only with the campers through live games, songs, arts...

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

Instructor: ERIC LAU is an alumnus of NYU's prestigious Graduate Film Program. He has worked in the film industry for 34 years. His films, Nightwatchman and Ragged Edge, won the Best Narrative Film Award in the 1981 and 1984 Hong Kong International Film Festivals as well as Best Production, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography Awards in the 1984 First Run.

Lau has been a Director / Producer / Cinematographer for many commercials and feature films. In 2007, he directed and produced Elevator Weekend which won the Official Selection category for both the Staten Island Film Festival and Long Island International Film Festival. He has produced and directed international TV commercials for Snapple, Toyota, China Unicom, and Blue Man Group among others, and garnered numerous awards including the Telly Award and the Gold and Silver Awards for the Taiwanese Annual TV Advertisement Awards.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Filmmaking Afterschool Program
Solar’s afterschool program offers children ages 13-18 enormous fun and a great learning experience. Kids will work in teams to learn how to write, shoot, edit, and direct films. We offer a hands-on filmmaking workshop, promoting storytelling in a fun, textbook-free environment.

Our philosophy is “they teach, we inspire.” The kids will be using professional filmmaking equipment while learning teamwork, expressing their thoughts, and developing their voice. CAMP FACILITIES: Each of our cabins is equipped with complete bathrooms/ showers, electricity, porches and plenty of space. (No bunk beds!) Cabins are designed to hold between 5-8 campers with a minimum of 3 staff members living in each cabin so that we can maintain our 2:1 camper counselor ratio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located along a secluded nine-mile lake in the Adirondacks of New York State is a private/ independent seven-week residential camp for 130 children from across the United States and around the world. Camp Northwood is oriented toward children with low self-esteem, immature social skill development, high functioning autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges in need of a structured and supportive, socially therapeutic summer experience. Northwood's program, developed and supervised by an outstanding staff of special educators, focuses on the development of independence, social skills, self-image and the maintenance of academic skills.

CAMP FACILITIES: We operate out of a typical NYC elementary school and have access to their yard and playground as well.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers specialize in one of two majors: performing or visual arts. Declare your major when you sign up! Both majors will culminate in a showcase each week.

Supervision is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. When students are not in class with our world-class faculty, they are supervised by members of our trained AMDA staff.

Students leave campus only for planned and chaperoned outings, which may include going to a Broadway show or visiting NYC and LA tourist destinations.

Performing Arts Experience classes, selected to compliment your background, focus and interests.

Students enjoy free time after lunch and in the evenings. Many students choose to rehearse, visit AMDA’s incredible libraries, or relax in the dorms during free time.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Partial merit-based scholarships are available on a limited basis.

All accepted students are required to submit a placement video, so we can prepare to meet students at their respective levels. All students are considered for scholarships based on their performances in these placement videos.

Payment plans are available upon request.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our facilities include 4 swimming pool, playgrounds, a play village, a high ropes adventure course, a miniature golf course and driving cages, tennis courts, basketball courts, hockey courts and fields for softball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Ours is a balanced program with offerings in sports and creative areas. As our campers grow we offer electives, league sports and out of camp trips. Our mature staff is the best in the camping industry. For more information please go to the staff section of our website.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Campers entering the 10th grade may participate in our Camper In Training (CIT) program which offers interested campers an opportunity to work besides our staff in a group our specialty area.

We offer flexible scheduling from 3 - 8 weeks during the June 29, 2015 to August 21, 2015 camp season. Session dates and rates are posted on our website.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Broadway Bound Players (4th - 8th graders) & Broadway Bound Workshop (9th-12th graders)
Broadway Bound Players is a free performing arts program for underserved students seeking opportunities to perform and find a theatre community. Members of this exciting ensemble receive acting, voice, and dance training from professional teaching artists and take master classes with Broadway performers. They rehearse and perform a musical review that they help create. This program culminates with a performance on a professional stage.

The Broadway Bound Workshop is a fully subsidized 8-month program. Members will explore character development through musical theatre, improvisation, monologues, and scene study. The ensemble applies these skills throughout the rehearsal process for a show presented in the Spring. The members in this program develop confidence and competence as performers and as young adults! The ensemble is also given other performing opportunities with Broadway Bound Kids, master classes with Broadway performers, and individual coaching for college auditions.

​This program requires an application, a teacher recommendation, and a virtual audition. After your application is submitted, you will receive an email with audition details.

Broadway Bound Academy (10th - 12th graders)
Students in this conservatory-style acting class will develop fundamentals through the exploration of technique, text analysis, and scene study. Students will work on materials including one assigned classical scene (Shakespeare, Euripides, etc) or contemporary-classical (i.e. Anton Chekhov), and one assigned contemporary scene mid 20th century to present (i.e. Tennessee Williams, August Wilson, Suzan Lori Parks).

Enrollment will be limited to 10 students. ​

Auditions open to NYC-based 10th-12th graders.

Audition Requirements:
Video Submission: 1-2 minute monologue from a play

We will reach out with final decisions by Friday, January 14th.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Broadway Bound Kids offers an InterACTive Broadway Program that provides several trips each year for students to see Broadway Shows, and the program includes master classes and/or talkbacks with cast members from the shows. We also offer Musical Theatre Classes on Saturdays in Manhattan, as well as a Broadway Bound Players program that mounts musicals on stage!

We are also launching Broadway Bound Academy in Fall 2020 for pre-professional in-house acting, dancing, and singing classes.
