Many of our Louisiana Theater Camps offer Winter & Winter Break Theater Programs, Activities, Workshops & Classes starting in December, 2024.
Be sure to check the "Year-Round Programs and Other Camp Info" headings of each camp listing for specifics, or give any Theater Camp you're interested in a call to check on Winter & Winter Break dates, times and availability.
Many of our Theater Camps will be hosting Winter & Winter Break Reunions for their previous campers, and Winter & Winter Break Open Houses for interested new campers and families. Each camp is different, and some offer activities for the entire family.

Be sure to ask each Louisiana Theater Camp about the amount of theater instruction and the overall intensity of their theater program.
Some Top Louisiana Theater Camps offer rigorous daily theater training and lots of intensive theater experience. Other great Louisiana Camps offer theater as an elective or recreational activity with much less training and intensity.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Theatre Acadie's Petits Summer Camp will engage in activities promoting compassion, emotional understanding, body awareness, trust, creative thinking, collaboration, and play while working with a group of peers in a fun and safe environment! The camp will end in a production of the play STONE GUMBO, written by Sarah Gauthier Roy. Parents are asked to assist in minimal costuming. Theatre Acadie Petits camp is the only performance camp for the younger kids in Lafayette. Camp is taught by actor, singer, writer, director, and mother Sarah Gauthier Roy, who teaches Talented Theatre in Lafayette Parish Public School System.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a ballet, studio and 2 stage areas plus a cafe for snacks time.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is Theatre Acadie' first summer camp! Mrs. Sarah Roy has been teaching theatre in schools and camps since 2010. She has been performing since 1996. Theatre Acadie is striving to cultivate the unique cajun culture through the Performing Arts.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Petits classes continue during the school year weekly! Go to theatreacadie and add your name to the mailing list.
OTHER CAMP INFO: Performance of STONE GUMBO will be performed Saturday July 1 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and children are required to attend. The performance will take place in the main stage at Cite des Arts and guests are invited. Children behave and play differently when their parents are around, so I encourage parents to drop off your children and do not stay for class.

Fees: $180 paid in full, or $25 registration and $170 due at start of Camp (June 26, 2017)

Since 1980, we've put kids in charge of their own learning experience. At Steve & Kate’s, kids try, fail, and learn on their own. They learn to trust their own judgment, and tackle the challenges of an ever changing world with creativity and confidence. Campers choose minute to minute from a variety of activities including, sewing, stop-motion animation, music, performing arts, makers crafts, bread making, and more. They'll decide what they want to do, and for how long–developing confidence and learning to trust their judgment along the way.
