SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Our Drama School continually strives to learn and grow as the world changes in relation to access and inclusion practices. Here are just a few of the ways we accommodate every student.
Accessibility
NCT is completely wheelchair accessible, and we make accommodations for mobility and physical disabilities.
Informed Teachers
All Teaching Artists are have continued training on inclusion, implicit bias, and trauma-informed practices.
Sensory Regulation
Classrooms have ‘chill corners’ where students can chill if activities become over-stimulating. Noise-reducing headphones and fidget tools are also available.
Attention Aids
Visual class schedules are utilized so students know what to expect each day. We also use visual time timers to help students with time-management.
Class Expectations
All classes utilize verbal as well as discussed written agreements so students help with the creation of and understand classroom behavioral expectations.
Inclusive Nametags
Nametags are printed using the class color as well as listing the color names for colorblind students. Additionally, student and teacher pronouns are listed on all nametags.
A class Social Story can be found below to help navigate our classes. A Social Story is a tool to help improve a child’s understanding of expectations during an unfamiliar event and were originally designed to support neurodivergent students. However, this can be a useful tool for any student who is unsure about what to expect from a new experience. We share these resources to make NCT classes inclusive for ALL students.

Theater, Musical Theater, Dance, and more. Special Needs Programs.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: NCT offers a wide variety of camps throughout the summer! Programming includes: Weekly Day Camps, 3-Day Mini Camps, Musical Theatre Camps, Multi-Week Production Camps.
Camps are available for ages 4-18 with a variety of different themes and focuses per age group! Actors will work together as an ensemble, develop their character creation skills and learn how to take their own creative impulses and commit to those ideas through the creation of a play.
NCT’s focus is always the healthy development of young people. We believe that the skills that students learn in the process of play-building will serve them in their everyday lives as well as provide a foundation if they choose to continue to more advanced work (which we hope they do!).
Camps run from 9am-3pm with FREE Before and After Care
Before Care opens at 7:30am and After Care runs until 5:30pm!
